ORGANIZERS
PROGRAM
10th Annual Ukrainian Psychiatric Association International Conference

"Mental Health Opportunities in a Country at War"
Happy to announce a Book Presentation at the 10th Annual Scientific Conference of Psychiatrists:
“Waiting for the First Light: My Ongoing Battle with PTSD”
Authors: Roméo Dallaire, Jessica Dee Humphreys
In his memoir, Canadian General Roméo Dallaire shares his personal struggles with the weight of war experiences and the importance of creating support systems for those suffering from PTSD to help them cope with the aftermath of trauma.
General Dallaire commanded the UN peacekeeping mission in Rwanda in 1993-1994, during the height of the country's genocide, which occurred with the virtual inaction of the international community. He became the first and only senior officer in the world to openly talk about his experiences and how they affected his psyche.
